This booster pump provides water whenever you need it. When a tap is opened, the device will switch on automatically and pump water from the water mains or source. This kit can also be used when a specific pre-set water pressure is not reached. Then the pump will also switch on immediately for a desired result. Furthermore, the pump is equipped with an integrated dry-running protection system, which means the pump switches off automatically if it is unable to draw water from the source.  The pump is fitted with an integrated non-return valve and a pre-filter, which ensures that solid particles in the drawn water are kept outside the pump body. The pre-filter can be opened easily and cleaned with the supplied multitool. You can configure the pump's switch-on and switch-off pressure via the electronic interface on its side,  which has been set to factory default based on the most common situations. However, you also have the option to deviate from this.  The interface shows the pressure provided at that moment by means of LEDS.

    • Provides sufficient pressure and capacity for one to two sprinklers
    • The hose that can be used for this pump has a diameter of 1" for the delivery connection and 1" for the suction connection
    • Draws water from a maximum depth of 8 metres
    • The maximum delivery head is 43 metres, which equals 4.3 bar output

    Contents of the kit:

    • Tallas D-EBOOST 850 with integrated non-return valve and pre-filter

    • Multitool for, among other things, opening the pre-filter

The Tallas brand has been around for many years, and has always focused on the consumer market. They have come up with some handy solutions, in particular for garden irrigation and ditchwater or rainwater use. Tallas is part of DAB, and therefore its pumps meet the same high standards, although lighter materials are often used, which makes a slight difference in quality. Tallas is particularly good at providing simple solutions, with which they equip their pumps as standard, and are ideal for many consumers. For example, a built-in pre-filter that protects the pump because it stops dirt from entering it, but also light garden pumps that are fitted with a handle and footrest. This makes them easy to move and immediately available for small irrigation jobs.

    Complete ready-to-use kit

We offer kits for many of our pumps. These are meant mainly to achieve your goal as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you are looking for a replacement pump for an existing situation, you can always opt to get a separate pump, which we offer at a price that is lower than the kit. The kit is made up of accessories that ensure that your product can be used as optimally as possible. Furthermore, with these accessories, our goal is to extend your pump's lifespan so that you can enjoy using it for a much longer period.

    Water filter

Many of our garden and booster pumps are supplied with a water filter, or one is integrated in the pump. In many cases, water is drawn from a ditch, a canal, or a local source. However, even if the water looks clean it may still contain dirt particles. Garden and booster pumps do not handle dirt particles very well, as a result of which the impeller may seize and stall. Using the water filter will stop any dirt from entering the pump.

    Dry-running protection

The name says it all: this pump is protected from running dry. Most pumps cannot, if at all, operate dry for long, which usually ends in the pump immediately burning out and/or seizing. For example, this could happen if the source has run dry and the pump can no longer draw water from it. Garden and booster pumps are particularly sensitive to running dry. Some borehole pumps and somewhat more advanced garden pumps are already equipped with built-in dry-running protection. Others can be easily fitted with a dry-running protection system: for example, with a separate one or with the DAB Control-D. This definitely guarantees that the garden or booster pump will not run dry.

    Automatic activation / deactivation

This pump switches on or off automatically if you open or close a water point that is connected to the pump. In many cases, this feature is a considerable advantage: for example, when irrigating a garden with a hand-held sprayer, or supplying a toilet or washing machine with rainwater. It is also useful if you want to increase the water pressure in your home. Unlike standard garden pumps, booster pumps - because of the difference in pressure - 'notice' when one or more water points are opened or closed. This is how the pump knows that it needs to start or stop. Standard booster pumps (which are mounted to a tank) are equipped with a mechanical switch, and the more advanced ones have electronic switches. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages. The mechanical switch is reliable but can either not be set or it is difficult to do so, while the electronic version can be set but is dependent on electricity.

Frequently asked questions of the Tallas D-EBOOST 850

    Frequently asked questions

What kind of water can I pump with this model?
The Tallas D-EBOOST 850 Booster Pump is only suitable to pump clean water, i.e. water that is free from very large solid particles (< 2 mm).
This means that you can also pump water from a canal or ditch, but subject to certain conditions:

    • We recommend making use of a suction hose with a brass connection (better filtration).
    • We recommend making use of a pre-filter (this allows for extra filtering before the water enters the pump).

In addition, the water should not be colder than 0°C and not warmer than 35°C.

What can I use this pump for?
This pump is suitable for the following purposes:

    • Watering, spraying, and irrigating a garden or lawn
    • Hosing down a terrace, decking or garden furniture
    • Draining spaces or wells
    • Supplying water/rainwater for your washing machine, toilet, sink, or shower in a separate circuit
    • Drinking water systems

Is the pump suitable for continuous operation?
No, the pump is not suitable for continuous operation.

Is it advisable to use a pre-filter?
If the water is virtually the same as drinking water, no pre-filter is needed.
However, if the water pumped contains solids - for example, water from a ditch or canal - we recommend using a pre-filter.

How should the pump be installed?
The pump and the entire connected system need to be protected against frost and inclement weather conditions.
Therefore, place the pump in a dry location with an ambient temperature from 5°C to 40°C, to allow the motor to cool sufficiently.

What is the advantage of a suction hose with a brass connection versus a plastic connection?
A suction hose with a brass connection is more solid and is fitted with a better suction filter.
That is exactly why we recommend installing this type of hose if you plan to pump water from a canal or ditch.

The water to be drawn in by the pump is situated at a level lower than nine metres. How do I handle this?
Generally, garden pumps and booster pumps can draw in water from a maximum depth of nine metres.
If the water is occasionally at a depth lower than nine metres, you will need to use a borehole pump, which is placed in the well and usually has a delivery head of 50 metres and over.
Check our range of borehole pumps.

What happens if the water from the source is finished?
This is a water-cooled model pump, which means that it cools itself with the water it pumps.
When the water from the source is finished - for example, if the water level has dropped below nine metres - the pump will usually keep running with no water supply.
This is referred to as 'dry running' and may cause the pump to become overheated, which could ruin it.

However, the pump is fitted with an active system, which protects the pump immediately from running dry.
The Tallas D-Eboost 850 Booster Pump switches off automatically when no water is supplied.

Is the pump suitable for a drinking-water system?
Yes, this pump is made of technopolymer, and is therefore suitable for a drinking-water system.

Can this pump be connected to the existing mains water pipes in my house?
The pump can be connected to your existing mains water pipes, but you are advised to make use of a booster pump.

Is the pump supplied ready to use?
Yes, you can start using the pump immediately, but it is not supplied with accessories such as a suction hose, a filter, and a discharge hose.
If needed, these can be ordered conveniently from our webshop together with your pump.
