    Description of the DAB EuroInox 30/30 M + Control-D

    Tip from Niels

If you want to start processing dirty water, you are advised to include a 5" filter (blue hood) in your order, to deal with solid particles. This will stop the particles from entering the pump, thereby extending its life.

The DAB EuroInox 30/30 M is a high-quality booster pump from the leading manufacturer DAB. The pump's main feature is its high pump capacity and pressure output, which enable it to supply water to an average of three sprinklers at the same time.  This makes it ideal for medium sized to large gardens. The pump is used not only to spray gardens but is also widely used to provide an indoor rainwater supply. Thanks to it being so quiet (67dB), the DAB EuroInox 30/30 M is highly suitable for indoor setups. This garden pump is equipped with a DAB Control-D system, which turns it into an automatic pump. When a tap is opened, the pump will switch on automatically, and off again when the tap is closed. If the source (the location where you get the water from) is dry, the DAB Control-D ensures that the pump is switched off automatically,  so that the pump does not sustain damage due to running dry. Thanks to the interlinked cables between the pump and the DAB Control-D you can start immediately.

The pump can be used for a wide range of situations:

    • Watering, spraying, and irrigating a garden or lawn
    • Hosing down a terrace, decking or garden furniture
    • Draining spaces or wells
    • Supplying water/rainwater for your washing machine, toilet, sink, or shower in a separate circuit

    Summary

    • Provides sufficient pressure and capacity for about three sprinklers
    • The hose that can be used for this pump has a diameter of 1" for the delivery connection and 1" for the suction connection
    • Draws water from a maximum depth of 8 metres
    • The maximum delivery head is 46 metres, which equals 4.6 bar output

    Stainless steel / Inox

In some situations, stainless steel, which is also called Inox steel, can be very handy, and is prescribed in particular with regard to drinking water. Drinking water must remain pure and may not contain corrosive elements, which is the reason that stainless steel is used. Furthermore, a stainless steel pump is also resistant to lime, which tends to stick to surfaces, but is not able to do so with smooth, stainless steel surfaces. Cast iron is usually the counterpart of stainless steel, but these pumps are prone to corroding and are therefore used mainly for irrigation. A final advantage of stainless steel is that it is lighter than cast iron and is therefore easier to move.

    Dry-running protection

The name says it all: this pump is protected from running dry. Most pumps cannot, if at all, operate dry for long, which usually ends in the pump immediately burning out and/or seizing. For example, this could happen if the source has run dry and the pump can no longer draw water from it. Garden and booster pumps are particularly sensitive to running dry. Some borehole pumps and somewhat more advanced garden pumps are already equipped with built-in dry-running protection. Others can be easily fitted with a dry-running protection system: for example, with a separate one or with the DAB Control-D. This definitely guarantees that the garden or booster pump will not run dry.

    DAB

DAB is one of the best-selling brands of water pumps for consumers as well as for professionals. These pumps adhere to a very high standard of quality, with each pump being tested manually by a staff member before it is put on the market. This is the only way DAB can guarantee that you obtain the absolute best. They have a solution regarding almost any situation, whether it involves an industrial application or simply spraying a garden. DAB's professional quality is also reflected in its consumer line. The DAB pumps we replace for people are usually over ten years old.

    Automatic activation / deactivation

This pump switches on or off automatically if you open or close a water point that is connected to the pump. In many cases, this feature is a considerable advantage: for example, when irrigating a garden with a hand-held sprayer, or supplying a toilet or washing machine with rainwater. It is also useful if you want to increase the water pressure in your home. Unlike standard garden pumps, booster pumps - because of the difference in pressure - 'notice' when one or more water points are opened or closed. This is how the pump knows that it needs to start or stop. Standard booster pumps (which are mounted to a tank) are equipped with a mechanical switch, and the more advanced ones have electronic switches. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages. The mechanical switch is reliable but can either not be set or it is difficult to do so, while the electronic version can be set but is dependent on electricity.

Frequently asked questions of the DAB EuroInox 30/30 M + Control-D

    Frequently Asked Questions

What type of water can I pump with this device?
The DAB EuroInox 30/30 M can only pump clean water, which is to say: water without significant suspended solids (< 2 mm).
This means you may also pump water from a canal or ditch, although under a number of conditions:

    • We recommend using a suction hose with brass connection (improved filtration)
    • We recommend using a pre-filter (additional filtering time before the water enters the pump)

Moreover, the water should never be warmer than 35°C.

What can I use this pump for?
You can use this pump for the following applications:

    • Irrigation and sprinkling of your garden or lawn
    • Cleaning your terrace, backyard deck or garden furniture
    • Pressure-boosting your water supply
    • (Rain)water supply of your washing machine, toilet, sink, shower, etc.

Is this pump suitable for continuous use?
Yes, this pump is ideal for continuous use.

Is it recommended to use a pre-filter?
If the water is approximately identical to drinking water, you will not have to use a pre-filter.
However, if the water contains suspended solids (this is the case with water from a ditch or canal), we highly recommend using one.

How should the pump be installed?
The pump and connected system must always be protected against frost and other extreme weather conditions.
Therefore always place the pump in a dry space, with an ambient temperature between 5 and 40 degrees, in which the motor can be cooled properly. In addition, all connected pipes must be fully water and air-tight to prevent damage and loss of performance.

The water the pump has to drain is located at a depth of more than 9 metres, what's the solution?
Irrigation and booster pumps can generally suck up water at a depth of 9 metres.
If the depth is (sporadically) greater than 9 metres, you must use a borehole pump.
A borehole pump is placed in the source and usually has a head rate of 50 metres or more.

Please take a look at our selection of borehole pumps.

What happens if the water from the source is finished?
This is a water-cooled model pump, which means that it cools itself with the water it pumps.
When the water from the source is finished − for example, if the water level has dropped below nine metres − the pump will keep running with no water supply.
This is referred to as 'dry running', and may cause the pump to become overheated, which could ruin it.

Do not forget that this pump is equipped with dry-running protection, preventing the pump from running dry. The DAB EuroInox 30/30 M automatically switches itself off once the water supply depletes.

Is this pump suitable for a drinking water system?
No, the pump is made of cast iron, and is therefore unsuitable for a drinking-water system.

Can this pump be connected to the existing mains water pipes in my house?
This pump can be connected to your existing mains water pipes by means of a control system, but we advise using a stainless steel booster pump if you want to optimise your water-supply pressure. For information on how a booster pump works, click here!

Is the pump supplied ready to use?
This pump is supplied with a pre-installed DAB Control-D and cabling, but accessories such as a suction hose, filter, and discharge hose are not included. If needed, these can be ordered conveniently from our webshop together with your pump.
